Overview
DayDrift is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, track, or have access to any of your personal data. All your information stays on your device and, if you choose, in your personal iCloud account.
What data does DayDrift store?
On your device
- Your todo items: Tasks, notes, completion status, and streak information
- App preferences: Theme, language, week configuration (5-day vs 7-day week), and other settings
- Purchase status: Whether you have purchased premium features (stored locally only)
In your iCloud account (optional)
- When you enable sync and have a premium subscription, your todo data is stored in your personal iCloud account
- This uses Apple's CloudKit service, which means your data goes directly from your device to your iCloud account
- We never see, access, or have any way to view your iCloud data
What we don't do
- We don't collect any personal information
- We don't track your usage or behavior
- We don't use analytics services
- We don't have servers that store your data
- We don't send your data anywhere except your own iCloud account (when sync is enabled)
- We don't use advertising networks or third-party tracking
- We don't share any information with third parties
How purchases work
- In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store
- We only store a local flag on your device indicating you have premium features
- All payment processing is done by Apple - we never see your payment information
Data sync (unlimited plan)
- Sync is optional and only available with the unlimited plan
- When enabled, your data syncs between your devices using your iCloud account
- Data goes directly from your device to your iCloud - we are not involved in this process
- You can turn sync on or off at any time in the app settings
- Disabling sync removes data from your iCloud account
Third-party services
The only third-party services DayDrift uses are Apple's own services:
- CloudKit: For optional data sync to your iCloud account
- StoreKit: For processing premium purchases through the App Store
These are Apple's services integrated into iOS - not external tracking or analytics services.
Your control
- All your data belongs to you and stays under your control
- Delete the app = all local data is removed
- Turn off sync = data is removed from your iCloud account
- Manage iCloud data through your device's iCloud settings
- No account required - the app works entirely offline if you prefer
Children's privacy
DayDrift is safe for users of all ages since we don't collect any personal information. The app has no social features, no external communications, and no data collection.
Changes to this policy
Any updates to this privacy policy will be communicated through app updates. Since we don't collect data, changes would primarily be to clarify our practices, not change them.
